| Vince Edmunds Art is based in Uttoxeter creating highly distinctive glass art in the form of automotive emblems. Using an exclusive process for glass decoration. With delicate precision Vince chips glass prior to gilding it with 24 carat gold leaf. His work reinterprets iconic emblems as refined, collectable pieces. Bringing together heritage, engineering discipline and a deep respect for design. Working with glass, reverse painting and 24 carat gold leaf. Vince employs a traditional glue chipping technique, where a specialist adhesive is applied to the glass surface, and as it cures, pulls away fine shards of glass to create finely textured light reactive depth. The interplay of glass, gold and surface detail provides the finished pieces a quiet sense of theatre, allowing familiar forms to take on a sculptural presence. Vince’s work is held in private collections throughout the UK, Europe and America, furthermore two pieces are currently on display at the Silverstone Escapade gallery. |
